Born in Germany, Claudio Bohórquez first garnered international attention with his victory in the first International Pablo Casals Competition in 2000.
He also received a special award for the best chamber music, which gave him the loan of Casal’s Gofriller cello. He has performed with some of the world’s top orchestras under the baton of such prominent conductors as Barenboim, Eschenbach, Blomstedt, and Marinner.
In addition to his solo career, his work crosses many genres from chamber music to visual and performing arts.
Claudio Bohórquez plays a G. B. Rogeri violoncello loaned to him by the Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg.
