Born in Alsace in 1965, virtuoso Paul Meyer is one of the world’s most notable clarinetists. He made his debut as a soloist at the age of thirteen, and his Carnegie Hall debut at when he was 19.
Ever since, he has been active as one of the world’s top solo clarinetists.
With his perfection of technique, outstanding musicality, and rich, elegant tones, he has given the world premieres of works written especially for him by Berio, Penderecki, and many other composers.
In recent years, he has built a successful career as a conductor.
After a period as associate conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, he was appointed Principal Conductor of the Kosei Orchestra in Tokyo in 2010.
He has released CDs for numerous labels, including Denon, Deutsche Grammophon, and BMG Funhouse.
