Gilbert Audin
Gilbert Audin was born in France in 1956.

He is a leading player of the French bassoon.

Audin entered the National Superior Conservatory of Paris for Music in 1973 and studied under Maurice Allard.
While Audin was there, he received the first prize for bassoon in 1975 and first prize for chamber music in 1976.
Audin also won the first prize at the Geneva Competition in 1980 and at the Toulon Competition in 1982.

He is currently the principal bassoonist in the Paris National Opera Orchestra and teaches at the National Superior Conservatory of Paris as a professor.

Audin is an important member of the ensemble “Les Vents Français”, which Paul Meyer presides over with Emmanuel Pahud and Eric Le Sage. Their perfect ensemble with brilliant French spirit is highly praised.

Audin captivated the audience with his outstanding technique and sophisticated and colorful sounds in the concerts held at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall in December 2009.
