Ayano Kamimura

Ayano Kamimura won second prize in the 80th Music Competition of Japan.
In the same year, she won first prize in the 65th Student Music Concours of Japan.
She won first prize in the Romanian International Music Competition and in the Treviso International Competition in Italy.
She studied at the Toho Girls’ Senior High School and in the Soloist Diploma Course at the Toho Gakuen School of Music under Hakuro Mori and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi.
In 2013, she moved to Europe to study under Arto Noras at the University of Music and Theatre Hamburg in Germany, and then to study under Ivan Monighetti and Sol Gabetta at the City of Basel Music Academy. After graduating with full marks, she performed a concerto with the Basel Symphony Orchestra.
At Ivan Monighetti's special retirement concert, she performed as a soloist under Monighetti's direction.
She also performs every year at the Miyazaki International Music Festival and at the Kirishima International Music Festival.
She also performs chamber music mainly in Europe and in Japan with groups including a trio with pianist Yoko Kikuchi and violinist Kyoko Yonemoto.
She is currently studying baroque cello under Christophe Coin at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (baroque music).
She has received scholarships from the Yamaha Music Foundation, the Japan Music Foundation JESC, the Meiji Yasuda Cultural Foundation, the Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Study Program for Upcoming Artists, and the Rohm Music Foundation.
